How a Shopify Website Gets Built in One Week

WildHive Studio builds conversion-ready Shopify websites in one focused week using a phase-based sprint process. Founders start by completing a guided intake and attending a kickoff strategy call, then hand off the work. Design, build, and review happen over five focused days. The result is a live site, complete with walkthroughs, a launch guide, and post-launch support.

Most website projects drag on for months. This one doesn't.

You’ve probably heard the horror stories. A designer who disappears for six weeks. A project that quietly balloons in scope. A site that still isn’t live three months later while your ads keep running to a page you’re embarrassed to send people to.

That’s not how this works.

Website in a Week is a structured, strategy-led Shopify build delivered in five focused days. Not a template flip. Not a rushed job. A real, conversion-ready website built through a process designed for founders who value both quality and momentum.

Here’s exactly how it works, start to finish.

How does Website in a Week actually work?

How does Website in a Week actually work? ·

Before the week starts

The week works because the prep happens first. You’ll start off completing a detailed intake form that captures your brand, goals, audience, and vision. Then we’ll hop on a kickoff strategy call together to lock in the details before work begins.

That’s where everything gets aligned.

Your aesthetic direction. Your conversion goals. Your Shopify theme. The pages we're building. By the time we hang up, there are no open questions and or "we'll figure that out later" moments. Just a clear plan and a start date.

You'll also get guidance on exactly what copy and photos to have ready before Day 1. That’s the part most clients are surprised by: the clarity of knowing exactly what they need to prepare without having to guess.

With everything ready ahead of time, the week takes care of itself.

What happens during the week?

  • Phase 1: Design

The week opens with designing your website. Using everything from your intake form and kickoff call, I build out the visual direction of your site: layout, hierarchy, color, type, and imagery. You're not involved in every micro-decision and that's intentional. You hired an expert, so let me do the work.

  • Phase 2: Build

I take the approved design and build it directly inside Shopify. Products are loaded. Pages are structured. Collections, navigation, and key functionality are configured, so the store actually works exactly the way it should.

  • Phase 3: Review

Wednesday’s your feedback round. Time to weigh in.

You’ll see the site, share your thoughts, and we’ll fine-tune anything that needs adjusting. It’s a focused moment to make sure everything feels right before the site goes live. We’re not reopening the brief. We’re refining the execution.

There’s an optional second round of feedback on Thursday. While most clients don’t need it, some love having the extra breathing room.

  • Phase 4: Launch

By the end of the week, your site’s live!

    Not almost done.

Not just a few more things.

Live and ready to make sales.

What do you actually have to do during the week?

Not much. And that’s exactly the point.

By the time the week begins, the prep work’s already done. You’ll share your feedback during the Wednesday review and watch the site come to life over the course of the week.

You’re not managing timelines or chasing deliverables. You bring the business. I handle the build.

This is the part clients mention most. They expect chaos. They get calm.

What does it look like when it's done?

A live, conversion-ready Shopify website. And everything you’ll need to run it.

You’ll walk away with:

Video walkthroughs of your site, so you know exactly how to update, manage, and grow it yourself. No dependency on a designer for basic edits.

A launch guide that walks you through what to do the moment the site goes live. No guessing. No Googling. Just a clear path forward.

A post-launch support window for questions, small fixes, and anything that comes up once you start using the site day to day.

The goal isn’t just to hand you something beautiful. It’s to give you something you understand, own, and can confidently run from day one.

How long does it take to build a Shopify website?

A Shopify website can absolutely be designed, built, and launched in one focused week when the process is structured correctly and the prep’s done ahead of time.

The standard 4–8 week timeline usually comes down to inefficiency, not necessity. Scattered feedback. Unclear briefs. Disorganized handoffs. That’s what stretches projects out, not the work itself.

When the prep happens upfront and the process is structured well, a week is plenty.

Not just “enough to get something out the door.”

Enough to build something you’re proud to send traffic to.

Is a one-week website right for every eCommerce brand?

Website in a Week is designed for established eCommerce businesses that are ready to move quickly and invest in a professional Shopify build.

It’s the right fit if:

  • Your branding and copywriting are already in place (or you’re pairing it with Branding in a Week and/or Copywriting in a Week)

  • Your product photos are ready, or will be ready before your start date.

  • You want a clean, strategic site without a months-long project taking over your life

  • You’re done with DIY and ready to hand it off

Website in a Week may not be the right fit if your brand is undefined, your product lineup is still shifting, or you need a highly complex custom build.

Why a sprint instead of a traditional timeline?

Traditional web design timelines drag on because there’s no urgency. The project exists in the background of both the designer's and client's lives for weeks. Decisions get delayed. Feedback gets scattered. Momentum fades.

A focused timeline changes the dynamic completely.

When your website becomes the priority for one contained week, decisions happen faster, feedback is clearer, and the end result is stronger. Not despite the shorter timeline. Because of it.

After working with 80+ eCommerce founders, the pattern’s clear: faster timelines lead to better outcomes when the process is structured right. Less second-guessing. Less scope creep. More getting back to running your best business.

What if I need more than one week?

Not every project fits into a single week. Here’s how the tiers work.

Website in a Week is designed for focused Shopify builds with a clear scope, typically 5–8 pages, existing branding, and content that’s ready to go. About 90% of clients fall into this category.

Website in Two Weeks is for larger sites that need more pages, a deeper product catalog, or a more layered structure. The same process, just with more time to build it properly.

Website in Four Weeks is for complex Shopify builds that require deeper customization, advanced functionality, or development work beyond a standard theme build.

Not sure which tier fits your project? Get in touch and we'll figure it out together.
